The English painter William Turner reverenced a painting by his friend Girtin called 'The White House'; for him it was a talisman of white's power, its omni-potentiality. If I had been Turner, perhaps I would have had a 'red house', signifying the power and mastery of red in any situation.

This painting was largely a playing with fields of yellow and blue. I like very simple premises. It became a scene, and then it requested an outer and inner focus.
